Digital invitations across Cyprus: a practical city-by-city guide | DreamyCard

Plan clear digital invitations for Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and the Famagusta area, with bilingual details, venue pins and RSVP checks.

The best invitation for your event is not simply the prettiest cover. It should tell each guest where to go, when to arrive, what to reply and which details apply to them. This checklist works for weddings, christenings, birthdays and baby showers across Cyprus.

Start with the event, not a city template

Choose the occasion, the actual date and Europe/Nicosia timezone. Then add each ceremony, reception or party location to the programme. A city name is not a venue: include the correct entrance, a map pin and any useful parking instruction supplied by the venue.

DreamyCard works online; hosts do not need to visit an office. Invitations are opened through a browser link or QR code. Guests still need an internet connection. The same design can be used for an event in a city, a village or another country.

Nicosia / Lefkosia

If the ceremony and reception are in different places, create separate programme entries rather than putting two addresses in one paragraph. Ask each venue which entrance guests should use. For a town-centre location, add a short parking or drop-off note instead of assuming a map pin explains the last part of the journey.

  • Verify the exact church or venue name in both languages.
  • Open each map link from a phone.
  • Explain any reception-only invitation through the guest-specific flow.

Limassol / Lemesos

For a hotel, restaurant or venue with several spaces, name the event room or reception area as well as the property. A link to a large property can leave guests at the wrong entrance. If the gathering moves between locations, make the change of venue explicit in the programme.

  • Ask the venue for its recommended arrival point.
  • Separate ceremony, drinks and dinner when they have different start times.
  • Keep practical directions short enough to scan while travelling.

Larnaca / Larnaka

When family members are arriving from abroad, avoid relying on their phone’s home timezone. Display the event date and local start time clearly, and let guests review the programme before adding it to their calendar. Share accommodation or transport arrangements only if you have actually organised them.

  • Check translated names and addresses, not only the English version.
  • Add a contact who has agreed to answer day-of questions.
  • Do not imply that transfers are included unless the host has arranged them.

Paphos / Pafos and Polis Chrysochous

A destination celebration may have several gatherings rather than one wedding-day location. Keep the invitation programme focused on the events each guest is invited to. Include useful arrival instructions, but avoid publishing private travel plans, hotel room numbers or personal guest details.

  • Use separate programme items for separate gatherings.
  • Check that English-speaking visitors can understand the venue notes.
  • Preview the card with a long venue name and on a narrow screen.

Famagusta / Ammochostos area: Paralimni, Ayia Napa and Protaras

Use the exact town and venue supplied by your host or venue rather than the regional label alone. For a resort or property with multiple entrances, confirm the pin before sharing. If your guests are staying in different towns, do not invent a travel time: ask them to check their own route and leave a practical arrival buffer.

  • Distinguish the event venue from nearby accommodation.
  • Confirm whether the party space is indoors or outdoors with the venue.
  • Explain only the dress, access or parking details you have verified.

Kyrenia / Keryneia, villages and other locations

A digital invitation can describe an event wherever it takes place. Use the precise venue name, local time, map pin and host-confirmed access instructions. For any journey involving crossing arrangements or entry requirements, direct guests to current official guidance; an invitation is not travel or legal advice.

For a village or mountain venue, ask the venue for the final approach, parking and accessibility details. Keep those instructions in the invitation so guests do not have to search through old chat messages.

Before you publish

Review the entire card in Greek and English: names, dates, directions, RSVP allowance, meal questions and any dinner-only details. If you add a personal hero photo, check the crop without losing the theme below it. Test the published link yourself before sending it to guests.

For geographic names and visitor planning, consult the official Visit Cyprus information. Venue details must still be confirmed directly with your venue.

  • Open the full sample and try its clearly labelled demo flow.
  • Choose the invitation package separately from optional media collection.
  • Share the public link only where it is appropriate; use personal links for restricted dinner details.
