Guest photo and video collection: what hosts and guests should know | DreamyCard
Choose photos or photos and videos, explain the 25 MB/500 MB limits, prepare guests for uploads and download memories before retention ends.
A guest gallery should be easy to understand before anyone chooses a file. Start by choosing the right optional extra, make the upload limits visible and plan how you will keep the memories after the event.

Choose the extra separately from the invitation
The invitation package and guest media collection are separate choices. Photos-only collection does not accept video. Choose photos and videos if you want both, and verify that the saved card shows the correct upload option before sharing.
You do not need to enable a gallery for the invitation, RSVP and programme to be useful. Keep the extra off if collecting guest files is not part of your event.
Know the per-file limits
The guest upload window allows photos up to 25 MB and, when the video extra is enabled, videos up to 500 MB per file. The window explains which types your event accepts. A file above the limit needs a smaller exported copy or a shorter clip; repeatedly selecting it does not change the limit.
Phone formats and codecs vary. A file extension alone does not guarantee playback in every browser. If a photo or clip cannot be previewed on a guest’s device, keep the original and try a broadly compatible JPEG image or H.264/AAC MP4 copy where practical.
- Read the allowed types and size limits before selecting files.
- Use a stable connection and keep the upload window open until completion.
- If an upload fails, follow its error and retry the failed item rather than assuming it was saved.
Ask permission and explain visibility
Guests enter their name and confirm their right to share the selected files. They should understand that uploads are shared with the event host and guests who can access the card. Do not upload someone else’s private photograph without permission.
The interface warns that uploaded files cannot be deleted through the upload window. Review the selection carefully before sending. Contact the host or DreamyCard support if there is a problem; do not assume that closing the page removes a completed upload.
Test on the devices you actually have
Before the event, try one nonpersonal photo and a short clip on the actual card if media is enabled. Confirm completion, reopen the gallery and check playback. Desktop phone-sized previews help with layout but cannot certify an iPhone camera format or Android file picker.
Optional background music is separate from gallery video. Browsers may require a tap for sound, and guests can turn music off. Check the experience with sound off too: essential information must never depend on audio.
Download the collection before it expires
Media collection has a retention window, not permanent archival storage. The host dashboard displays the applicable download deadline. Download the collection in time and keep a separate backup of the files you want to retain.
If your event has important media requirements, review them before publishing and check your connectivity plan with the venue. No website can guarantee every phone codec, every network or uninterrupted mobile reception at a venue.
From the idea to the invitation
Celebration €79: up to 150 invited people, including children and companions. Celebration Unlimited €119: unlimited guests.
One payment per event, VAT included, no subscription. Both packages have every design, RSVP, meal choices and seating tools. Create and preview free; pay when you publish.
Guest collection is optional: photos €19 (100 GB), or photos and videos €39 (200 GB photos and 100 GB video). Download the files within 90 days after the event. Unlimited guests does not mean unlimited storage.
